There are few things for certain: Lindsay and Jason love the outdoors, are true Southerners at heart and family is so so very important to them. That’s why it was no surprise to me when they requested to have their engagement photographs taken at his grandmother’s house in LaPlata, Maryland. Tucked away off this Southern Maryland road, Grandma’s house was exactly the kind of home you could envision hosting family cookouts, little ones running around playing or the neighbor’s dog stopping by to say hello. (That last part actually happened during their engagement session.) This land was a little piece of home and their hearts, for the soon to be newlyweds.
They walked hand and hand showing me their favorite spots: the barn, the fields and even Jason’s grandfather’s old crabbing boat. This little tour felt like something they may have done on Lindsay’s first visit to the home years ago when they began dating. In the distance, you could hear the laughter of their family having fun back at the house, while these two were sneaking away to be alone.
And right on queue, their little boy came running over to get Mommy and Daddy’s attention. Maybe it’s my imagination, but I think his happiness and love for his parent’s is so contagious, that you can’t stop smiling watching these three. They are just too cute!
Thank you Lindsay and Jason for opening up your hearts and your home! We are so excited for your upcoming Southern Maryland wedding at the Hawthorne Country Club in LaPlata, Maryland.
