I wish I could tell you where this family session took place, but after Tara suggested Piscataway Park in Southern Maryland, I found myself in the parking lot of a totally different place. Thanks GPS. Graciously, her and her family offered to drive over to me for their family photography session. A photographer and mom of two busy little boys, Tara really wanted to be IN the photographs for once instead of behind the camera. I can totally relate and love that I was able to capture this fun afternoon with all of her men.
There’s something so beautiful about just hanging out with your children and not worrying about being super posed: letting them laugh, run around and play. They don’t realize what is happening. Mom and Dad aren’t stressed and these are the little smiles, giggles and memories you want to remember as a parent.
I know all too well, that when you are the one in your family who takes the photographs, you will rarely have a beautiful portrait with your spouse. So, even if only for a quick minute, I really wanted her and Jan to have a couple of photographs taken of just the two of them. It’s important that their children will be able to look back and see that Mom and Dad made their marriage a priority and loved each other with all of their hearts, because this is where it all started.
In case you missed it, here is Tara’s maternity session from last year.
