It’s not always love at first sight. With Stacy and Darrin, they laugh recalling how it was something totally opposite for them. Not looking to settle down when they first met, I call it fate they didn’t have an immediate connection. Instead, the exciting game of Cat and Mouse was played over many, many months, until one day, they finally had their first date.
I love that their relationship isn’t built on fairy tales or ideals of life being “perfect”. Their “perfect” is being real, being themselves and loving each other for everything they are. Each of them compliments the other in different ways bringing out better versions of themselves. That right there is true love and one that will last.
Like most engagement sessions, the soon to be groom was a little apprehensive at the whole concept. Let me tell you a little secret, Men. If you want to make your fiancé happy, like really HAPPY, come to your engagement session and go with the flow like Darrin did. If I say “hold hands”, hold hands. If I say, “hey you should walk in the water”, darn it, get in that water and splash around with her, because there are few things in this wedding process that will de-stress you both and your engagement session should be one of them! Plus, you might even get a romantic dinner afterwards.
I mean, those looks say it all!
And just as we thought the clouds had won and covered our sunset at Jefferson Patterson Park, we hoped out of our cars to capture these last engagement photos.
I can’t wait to photograph Stacy and Darrin’s Southern Maryland wedding next year!
